I had to buy 2 new Tracfones because "they" said our current cellphones needed to be VoLTE compatible - so I bought the Samsung Galaxy A12 and the A51
I had this same voicemail notification problem exactly 3 years ago (today 12/31/21) and I resolved it myself by buying the Tracfone "Keep Your Own Smartphone" SIM Kit and activated our 2 cellphones to the AT&T network so Voicemail Notifications would work.
But now our 2 new Tracfones going through the Verizon network once again - the Voicemail Notifications Do Not Work .

Jude was a big help to me and he just wanted my home number and had tech support call me.
You have to stress the fact that the problem is voicemail Notifications, Not Voicemail setup.
They seem to always assume that its voicemail setup that needs to be done.
Once that is clear to them, it was easy to get fixed on both of my new Samsung Galaxy A12 and A51
Tech support sent a signal to the phones and then I just had to restart the phones, then they called the phones and left a voicemail to see if the Voicemail Notifications worked and they did .
This was by far the best and fastest experience with Tracfone Tech Support - maybe because it is new years eve 12-31-2021 at 5:30pm, I don't know, But they knew how to fix the problem without me explaining to them what actually needs to be done.
? How do I know what actually needs to be done ?
I have experience with this Voicemail Notifications Not Working problem exactly 3 years ago (12-31-2018)
I have learned a lot on this Tracfone Forum about this subject and from being on Tracfone Tech Support for HOURS
Summery on what me and others have learned about how to fix the Voicemail Notifications Not Working Problem:
1) This problem Only exists when using the Verizon network.
2) Only tier 3 tech support could fix this problem, and tier 1 would insist that there is no such thing as tier 3
3) Back 3 years ago, when they said it was fixed and it was temporarily, because whenever you went to buy a new service plan, it would automatically reset the phone back to the same problem.
4) I didn't want to spend my life on hold to get to Tracfone Tech Support, so at the time I had 2 unlocked cellphones and went to Bestbuy and bought the: "Keep Your Own Smartphone SIM Kit" and changed my carrier from Verizon to AT&T and that alone automatically fixed the Voicemail Notification Not Working Problem - NO Tech Support was needed.
So it still remains to be seen IF this is truly resolved and fixed permanently after I buy a new service plan. Hopefully it won't reset back to the same problem.
Thanks again, Jude
